Business can be tough in the tangible world of boutique outlets and department stores. How do you stand out in the online space?

Online shopping should be easy, fun and convenient. I aim to make For You My Queen somewhere people will want to return to time and time again because they value the easy shopping experience we offer and the quality of our merchandise.

How did the business come to be?

For You My Queen was created with savvy women in mind – it brings together a stunning collection of accessories in the one place online. For You My Queen is about lingerie and accessories only available through the website, these are collections not available anywhere else in the Australian market. I’ve put together a beautiful collection of hand-made silk lingerie, jewellery and accessories for stylish Australian women. Everything has been individually designed by Australian and UK designers for exclusive sale on my site. One of the brands, The Courtesan Collection, is a silk lingerie seduction apparel line launched in the UK only last year.

What makes your stock different to the department stores?

I’ve sourced the most exquisite hand-made British lingerie for the website which, until now, has not been available in Australia. Our seductive lingerie collection is contemporary and savvy, using silk, French lace, vinyl, jacquard, rhinestone, mesh, satin and sheer materials for the ultimate look and feel. The pieces are perfect for the bedroom, underneath a gorgeous evening dress, or as something to make you feel special under your everyday outfit.

What strategies do you have in place to promote your website?

I use a combination of online and offline marketing methods to promote For You My Queen, including public relations, SEO, strategic member get member email campaigns and affiliate marketing through partner sites. As well as a regularly updated news blog with interactive online videos and user feedback polls.

What made you branch out into racing accessories?

For You My Queen knows contemporary Australian women need beautiful accessories to complete their outfits. Racing is a key highlight in the Australian fashion calendar and we wanted to bring something fresh and unique to customers. A day at the races calls for an eye-catching fascinator and the site’s range of handcrafted jewellery adds the final touch to any look.

The jewellery collection is created by Australian jewellers from semi-precious stones and follows our chic style. Jade, turquoise, fresh water pearls, coral and silver are handcrafted into unique pieces to compliment any outfit.

For You My Queen’s hand-made fascinators have been created with Parisian style in mind, with dazzling Swarovski crystals and dramatic feather arrangements producing a simple, but classic appeal. Each fascinator is part of a limited collection, not available in stores.
